Heatproof glass chambers and an alcohol lamp. Vacuum brew for a clean cup and full aroma.
Why a syphon
Heat water in the lower bowl until it rises into the upper chamber and soaks the coffee. Take away the heat and vacuum pulls the brew back down through a cloth filter. You see the extraction happen. It suits light roasts when you want clarity and sweetness, and it is a strong table-side brew.

Care
Glass and open flame: use the lamp on a stable surface, away from children, curtains, and anything flammable. Let it cool before you move it.
Do not microwave or oven the set. HARIO says only the upper bowl, lower bowl, and lid are dishwasher-safe; wash the lamp, stand, and cloth by hand.
Never heat an empty lower bowl. Check there is enough water before you light the lamp.
Thermal shock cracks glass. Do not run cold water on a hot bowl.
Rinse the cloth after use; store it in water in the fridge. Replace if it mildews.
Use denatured alcohol as specified for the lamp. Not petrol.
