2-in-1 Gravity Distributor & Tamper

Umbrella-shaped paddles work with the tool's own weight to distribute and tamp in a single spin. Gravity sets the tamping depth automatically, with no reliance on feel or strength, so every puck comes out just as level. One tool replaces both distributor and tamper: set it down, then go straight to extraction.

An uneven puck causes channelling: water rushes through the path of least resistance and extraction becomes uneven. Cookie Spin hands two variables, pressure and levelness, over to gravity: the structure sets the depth, the paddles keep it level, and all you need to do is spin.

How to Use

FAQ

Do I still need a tamper?

No. Cookie Spin both distributes and tamps: spin until the base sits flush and you're ready to extract. Of course, you can also use it just to distribute and finish with your usual tamper.

How many turns does it take? Can I adjust the tamping pressure?

Usually about three to four turns will level it; once the surface looks even and the base sits flush, you're done. Relying fully on gravity gives a consistent, standard pressure; for a firmer puck, simply press down as you spin.

Does the 58.5 mm version fit 58 mm baskets?

Yes, 58.5 mm is the standard size for 58 mm systems. Before buying, please check the actual inner diameter of your portafilter basket.

Are the three colours any different?

Function and construction are identical; only the finish differs. Matte black and matte silver have a frosted texture, while mirror stainless steel is polished bare metal. Please note the mirror stainless steel version is only available in 58.5 mm.

Before You Buy

Please choose the size that matches the basket in your machine's portafilter; the wrong size won't fit or will jam when you spin it. Matte black and matte silver come in 51 mm and 58.5 mm; mirror stainless steel comes in 58.5 mm only. For everyday cleaning, simply wipe or brush off the grounds with a dry cloth or soft brush; if you rinse it, dry it thoroughly.
