HARIO Alpha Switch Ceramic Immersion Dripper 02 – Matte Black

[Taiwan Exclusive · Artisan Masterpiece] HARIO Alpha Switch (α) Immersion Ceramic Dripper Set with Concave Ribs - 02 Matte Black

Product Overview: Developed exclusively by the HARIO Taiwan team and made entirely in Taiwan , this crafted piece is the Alpha Switch (α dripper). It's not just a blacked-out version of the Switch but a revolution in fluid dynamics. Unlike the raised ribs of a traditional V60, the Alpha dripper uses a unique concave ribdesign which, paired with the Switch immersion base, brings your coffee unprecedented sweetness and body.

Why the Alpha Switch (α) Is Your Ultimate Choice

• Exclusive patented design (Concave Ribs): The inside of the Alpha dripper is carved with 24 grooves of alternating long and short lengths. During brewing, water pressure presses the filter paper tightly against the dripper wall, forcing the water through these precisely calculated grooved channels.

  • Result: It greatly reduces ineffective bypass water, forcing the hot water to pass more evenly through the coffee bed and significantly increasing extraction and sweetness.

• Immersion x pour-over, two ways (Hybrid Brewing): Fitted with the classic Switch silicone base and stainless steel ball valve switch.

  • Immersion mode (Switch Off): Close the switch and the Alpha's tight seal allows full immersion, releasing the deepest flavours and oils from the beans for a mouthfeel as round as a French press, but cleaner.

  • Pour-over mode (Switch On): Open the switch and the concave ribs make the flow slightly slower and steadier than a traditional V60, so even beginners can easily brew a layered, foolproof cup.

• Local Taiwanese craftsmanship x matte black aesthetics: Made with high-quality Taiwanese ceramic craftsmanship, its understated matte black glaze looks superb, and the ceramic's excellent heat retention keeps the water temperature stable during extraction, making it especially good at showcasing the flavours of light-roast beans.

• Star-shaped outlet: The base has a special star-shaped outlet that further optimises flow control, preventing the bitterness and astringency of over-steeping and keeping the finish clean and bright.
