X4 Premium Blend is built on Brazilian Yellow Bourbon and Honduran Pirates coffee: rich and sweet, with low bitterness and low acidity. Nutty, chocolatey aromas come through clearly, and it brews well both as pour-over and as espresso. An everyday blend for anyone who prefers low acidity.

Why a Blend?

A single origin is "simply what this piece of land produces": once a lot sells out, it's gone, and the next lot won't taste the same. A blend is different — it's built with a purpose: available all year round, the same taste with every order, and dependable with however you brew day to day.

Brazilian Yellow Bourbon forms the base because it's high in sugars, low in acidity and heavy in body, so it isn't drowned out once you add milk. Honduras adds sweetness and roundness, while Colombia gives the cup its structure. We keep the roast between medium and medium-dark — any lighter and the nutty, chocolatey character hasn't developed yet; any darker and all you're left with is bitterness.

Brewing

Pour-over: Start with 15 g of coffee to 240 g of water at 90°C, with a medium grind.

Espresso: Start with 18 g of coffee in, 36 g out, in 25 to 30 seconds, then fine-tune to suit your machine and taste.
