Kenya Nyeri Muhika Estate
Tropical sweetness of passion fruit and dried mango, vivid from the first sip.
Passion fruit and dried mango lead, layered with juicy grape and blackberry. A gentle winey note comes through, raisin sweetness builds in the middle, and it finishes on dark chocolate. If you love fruit-forward Kenyan coffee with a winey edge, this one is for you.
SL28 × SL34 Natural
In natural processing, the whole coffee cherry is dried with its fruit intact before the beans are hulled. During drying, sugars and aromatics from the fruit carry into the beans, giving a sweeter, fruitier cup than washed coffee, often with winey and dried-fruit notes. Kenyan coffee is traditionally washed, so this natural lot shows a riper, sweeter side of SL28 and SL34.
Muhika Estate is in Nyeri, Central Kenya, and is owned by Muhika Mutahi. Nyeri's high altitude, warm days and cool nights let the cherries ripen slowly into dense, sweet fruit.
